After installing the oscommerce  to your server you can see this warning top of your store. This warning is display because the permissions on the file or directory are set to Read,Write and Execute.

To fix this warning, you need to change the permission of the file or directory. Change the file or directory permission and set it to 644.

You can do it via cPanel. First login to your cPanel and do this using  File Manager. Just go to the file manager, find the file you want to give permissions for, and then click on that File Properties link/button and set permissions to it.

Also you can change permission for file and directory using FTP Programs. Mostly all popular FTP programs allow you to change file or directory permissions.

First open your FTP program.  Enter your host, username, password detail and Connect to your site with it.

Open your directory where your oscommerce store is installed. Then go in yourstore/includes/ directory and find the configure.php file. Now right click on that file, and click on file Permissions options and set permission to 644.

That’s it. you will not get this warning anymore, just run your oscommerce site in browser and check it.
